YouTube Playlists

We really like the feature on YouTube, which gives us the ability to spotlight other people's songs and music that we like (not that any of them really need it). Showing some of our tastes in music (or lack thereof).

With so many versions of some songs, we often wait to find one we really like (or like the best) before adding any. But we do occasionally swap some, or add more than one version.

We prefer to list the official versions on the official channels, but sometimes that is more difficult than practical (at least for us).

We do have a few self-imposed rules that we usually apply for thing we add to the lists. Which some would admittedly (and perhaps rightly) call stupid. Not that it effects what we like, watch or listen to ourselves. However, the rules can (and does) at times go out the window (being completely ignored) if we find something we really like, regardless of the content.

1 strong language (or at least excessive)
--- we get it, sometimes it adds the extra kick in the teeth needed, but often is unecessary
(we often use most of the disallowed words; and they are just words)

2 obscene getures
--- again, it can make a point

3 nudity
4 some types of symbolism

5 the often obligatory crotch grab/swipe
--- (we'll just say it generally doesn't bother us, and leave it at that)

6 video posted by people other than the original creators
--- (really not an issue for us, but with all the copyright rules, ..., ....)

We initially thought about excluding videos with excessive and/or rapid flashing lights and images — — but of course that would exclude nearly all the modern music videos. 😉

We also thought we might limit the number of videos of any singer or band, to two or maybe three, but that failed miserably. 😁

Another blog

Just an idea to set up this blog to post general offline, behind the scenes babble related to my website (and maybe some things of my life in general). Nothing all that specific, or overly interesting. More or less on a whim, since I already have the Blogger account, and now the cool Blogger app for easier posting. Haven't done much with the main amateur radio related blog for years (admittedly not been online for about six) So this may occasionally set abandoned as well, but then again, sometimes I do get an idea to babble or rant about something. Social Media ?

Okay, I know there are many who like social media, but from a quick Google search I have to think that there is something not right there. Admittedly, my own experience, what little I have done, seems rather unproductive. I like seeing old friends and reading some of their postings (which actually seems few and increasingly farther between), but I often leave with a feeling worse than when I arrived. I enjoy blogging and maintaining my website, and even Twitter is not too bad (I mostly use it for broadcasting update notices), but Facebook just tends to leave a bad taste in my mouth. — I have not tried Tik Tok, or any other social media sites, but really don't plan to. I would usually say, maybe it's just me, but the search results tend to make me think otherwise.
