Strong criticism of a K-pop company

Recently, I ran across another group (not saying who) which I liked and started looking at a few of the vlog videos, of some of the members. --- Which I often do. Doing so I watched one in which a member of the group went on a vacation, alone (not just a day out). Which at first I though, okay people do that. Then it hit me. Wait What!? Traveling alone can be dangerous enough for us nobodies, but this was a singer who's group has over two million subscribers on YouTube, and her Instagram account has thousands of followers. And the company has the video, where she specifically points out that she was alone, and likes to do that, posted on the official group channel. WTF!? --- Seriously WTF!? Some might say, "Oh there would be someone with her, a cameraman, or ...." However, it seemed obvious that she was recording the vlog on her phone. Okay, I have seen what I think are some glaring mistakes made by other Korean entertainment companies, but those were mostly mismanagment ...

K-Pop — our opinion

updated: April 28, 2026 I have to hand it to the people in the K-pop groups. To put up with the crappy hours, low pay, criticism and general bullshit they obviously have to put up with. Man, they must really enjoy what they are doing. I think most people, myself included would probably say, “F*** THIS!” — I for one am glad they do what they do, since it is currently my favorite genre. Disclaimer : We do not know, nor have we met any of the singers. We have never met any of the persons associated with, or running any of the entertainment companies (in Korea or the US). This is only our opinions from observing K-pop, and the related industry, for just over one year. From our observation, many of the singers seem like they would be okay people, if one were to know them, and as in the real world some probably would not be. However, it seems obvious that many of the people running the companies are probably not. It seems an industry (like most) in which the people running the companies can ...
