A Hypothetical Pondering

🤔 A hypothetical thought; perhaps if all (or at least a few) of the receptionist and secretaries, whom provide such an effective shield for the bosses hidding in their offices or out playing golf with their buddies, would take a few days off and let the bosses have to deal with the complaints from irrate, often abusive customers, maybe they would get the message. —- probably not, but it was just a thought 🎭

Hidden, Political or Social Meanings

Over the years we have noticed a lot of speculation about how this or that person's music, fiction, film, … is so socially or politically relevant, or has some wonderful hidden meaning that reflects the same. (perhaps it does) Maybe we missed the memo. Or perhaps it is because we never went to college. Either way, our stuff is just stuff (music, fiction, …) We do it because we can (by the grace of God), and because we enjoy doing it. If there is some hidden meaning; it is probably also hidden to us. If you discover one, well good for you; but be aware, that does not mean it was intentional (or that you are correct). ( same could also be said for other people's works as well ) 🤔

Short Story, Novelette, Novella or Novel (?)

Was reading a few related articles in Wikipedia and seeing the specific word count as demarcations between the various stories was more amusing to me than I was previously confused at wondering what the definitions actually were. I have previously read how the various stories are differentiated by things such as subplots, alternate perspectives and such, but to so specifically divide by word count seems amusing. Utimately it makes little difference to me, I self publish, and doubt I'll ever get any kind of awards, for anything I do (fiction or otherwise). I write stories and will leave it to others, with the time to waste on such things, to decide how to define them. Hopefully, at least not being called crap.

'Bad Barbara'

(Batman fan fiction influenced by and based on characters from the various 'Batman' television series, which are copyright by DC Comics.) --- Smashing the window of the upscale clothing store, with the trap set, Joker lay in wait for Batman and Robin to arrive. Unexpectedly, they hear the high pitched whine of a motorcycle quickly nearing their location. Suddenly the lights appeared as the speeding cycle rounded the corner, approaching the store front. Grumbling, Joker snarled, "Drat! --- It's that stupid girl!" Batgirl stepped from her bike and scanned the front of the store. Nearing, cautiously she stepped though the frame of the large broken window. Snarling quietly to himself, seeing Batgirl nearing the location of his well laid trap, knowing if he waited too long his devious plan would be totally useless, grudgingly he opened the valve on the pressure tank setting on the floor in front of him. Instantaneously a thick cloud of pale blue gas, streaming from the...

Social Media ?

Okay, I know there are many who like social media, but from a quick Google search I have to think that there is something not right there. Admittedly, my own experience, what little I have done, seems rather unproductive. I like seeing old friends and reading some of their postings (which actually seems few and increasingly farther between), but I often leave with a feeling worse than when I arrived. I enjoy blogging and maintaining my website, and even Twitter is not too bad (I mostly use it for broadcasting update notices), but Facebook just tends to leave a bad taste in my mouth. — I have not tried Tik Tok, or any other social media sites, but really don't plan to. I would usually say, maybe it's just me, but the search results tend to make me think otherwise.

Apps and the app store.

Not really needing one (mostly just looking for a new cellualr phone provider), but since my new provider offered bundled Internet with cellular service, I bought a smart phone (did at least buy my own, from a local retailer). After several weeks, ignoring it, thinking "store" meant stuff to buy (which there is a few things that are), I decided to browse the app store. To my surprise, much of the stuff is actually free. (Who knew? --- obviously not me) :) Well, I was like a kid in a candy store, with so much to choose from, but no clue as to what was actually good. --- I noticed many apps had overall good ratings (actually all about the same), but it seemed that many of the most recent reviews were negative (?). So, I just grabbed a few things that looked interesting. And since I had initially allowed Google to download a few of theirs, of which some I like (especially the Docs and the Drive apps), I grabbed a couple more of theirs. So, here is my basic initial opinion of the...

Another blog

Just an idea to set up this blog to post general offline, behind the scenes babble related to my website (and maybe some things of my life in general). Nothing all that specific, or overly interesting. More or less on a whim, since I already have the Blogger account, and now the cool Blogger app for easier posting. Haven't done much with the main amateur radio related blog for years (admittedly not been online for about six) So this may occasionally set abandoned as well, but then again, sometimes I do get an idea to babble or rant about something. Well, after reading how the nice folks at Google apperantly allows up to 100 blogs per account, I decided what the heck. I was only using one. And since my previous general blog account is no longer accessable, other than via posting by email, which doesn't give me any ability to correct mistakes in the post (and there are usually several). And that could be a big mess. Be warned, this blog will contain more babble than anything els...
